Which is greater wealth or poverty?
There are no right or wrong answers to this question I just want you to think about it, come up with some ideas and say why you think that.

Guess I am going first Mrs C.
I think wealth is greater because whn you are rich you can make more decisions like who to help and what you want to do in your life. When you are poor you have nothing and you are a victim waiting for people to give you things that you cant get yourself like food.
Good start Danny.
Ok some food for thought how are you defining great? What does wealth and poverty really mean? Do we always measure these things in materialistic terms?
….these are not answers just more thoughts
I think its harder to be poor than rich so it most be greater to be poorer because you need to do ten times as much as rich people just to live.
I think poverty is not very good at all. Ithink welth is much better because people have got money wot they need.
I think wealth becouse poverty is not very good at all becouse it makes people do things they dont want to at a young age.
i think being poor is greater than being rich because when you are rich you take things for granted but when you are poor you think really grateful for the things you get
Povety because you need to not take things 4 granted
I think we have some interesting ideas…is it greater to be grateful for what little life has given you? Or is it greater to have a lot of things? Does greater mean courage then? Or does it mean the ability to live a comfortable life without having to make comprimises …..as in doing something you do not want to do?
Povety because it makes you use what you have got and not waste stuff an thats great
Its greater to try an live by nothing than having evrything . When you got nothing you got to have someything inside you saying you got to live otherwise you just giv up and thats the end of you. So that gots to be greater than just having everything cos you are just another kid with everything takin it all for ganted. if i was a kid in poverty i dont know if i woud make it.
Hi Harriet & class,

Thanks for the comment Harriet.
I think the world could be great without both of those things, everyone would be equal.
If a have to choose I’d probably choose to be rich as I could help many people, as Danny said.
It’s sad to think that all these poor children live in poverty while we live the “Sweet Life”.
I love the opinions of lots of the children in your class.

Hi Mrs Cunningham & Students from Sacred Heart – Glad to see you are enjoying the student blogging competition. Great answers for “which is greater wealth or poverty?”
I’m not sure I would be able to answer this as well as you all have. I think it would be good if not one had to live in poverty and there was a fairer distribution of wealth, food, resources and access to facilities for all.
My! This is definitely tough. Let me think…
That would be a dream come true to all People In Poverty! If you are rich, you can make a difference, not only for yourself, but for others as well. If you are rich, you could be giving an advantage, not only to yourself, but for others as well…
I’d have to go with Wealth. Of course there is no right or wrong answer, but wealth has so many more reasons!
If you are rich, you can live life a dream. You can do anything you want, live a long, free, happy life and buy a house to stay in, have enough food and water to keep you going, and just be merry since your dream of becoming rich has come true. If you are rich, you can help so much. You can donate money to the poor and help change their lives like yours, so they get a good education, clothes, food, shelter and water.
If you are rich, you can visit all the countries around the world in poverty and lend them a hand. Help them learn, and even donate food and water for their health. You can bring in special doctors to help check their health as well, and give them medicine when they need it!
Very wise opinions your class have used, I like Danny’s great reasons thought out well, Mia’s, Shannon’s, Jordan’s, Harriet’s, Lauren’s, Bradley’s and Ben’s and last but not least, Emma’s reasons. Keep up the excellent work!
Nadine
